Personal Therapy (For Therapy, Counselling & Psychology practitioners only)

Updated: Mar 1

Personal Therapy can be an extremely rewarding and fruitful growth journey for any practitioners in training, whether you are a therapist, counsellor or psychologist.
Personal Therapy can be an extremely rewarding and fruitful journey for any counselor, therapist and psychologist in practice, or those in training.

Personal Therapy is a holistic and experiential space for Qualified and Trainee counselling, therapy and psychology/psychologists professionals to gain a deep growth in the personal and professional paths.

The term personal therapy means ‘to personally experience therapy’. It is highly regarded in the counselling & psychotherapy fields, as a long-term work for counselors, psychotherapists and counselling psychologist professionals.

Professionals in training are often required to attend ‘Personal Therapy’ before qualification, as they start providing therapy/counselling for someone else – “Learn to experience the process before you can understand it”. In this space, practitioners learn to unpack different elements of life, to link between their own selves and the various past and present experiences, and explore opportunities to grow.

Outside the mandatory training requirements, personal therapy is a great and often life-rewarding opportunity for those seeking deep personal growth. This can be especially meaningful for individuals with bicultural backgrounds or lived experiences, as well as for professionals working in foreign environments. Personal therapy provides a space for culturally sensitive support, helping you navigate the unique challenges and strengths that come with diverse cultural identities and cross-cultural experiences.

Personal Therapy helps us harness our internal and social qualities: self-awareness, reflexivity, interpersonal effectiveness, personality traits, own strengths and weaknesses, analytical thinking, mindfulness, etc. We are also welcome to bring up stress, anxiety and our own vulnerabilities.
