Clinical Supervision for Trainee and Qualified Counsellors, Psychologists and Therapists

Clinical supervision is more than a professional requirement. It is a reflective space for clinicians to think, learn, and continue developing within the complexity of therapeutic work.

Whether you are a trainee, newly qualified, or an experienced practitioner, supervision can support you in strengthening your clinical thinking, navigating uncertainty, and exploring the emotional, relational, and ethical dimensions of practice within a space that values both challenge and care.

I am a UK HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist and approved clinical supervisor with over 14 years of clinical experience across NHS, complex mental health, multidisciplinary, and therapeutic settings.

My supervision practice is relational, formulation led, interculturally informed, neurodivergence affirming, and trauma informed. I work particularly well with thoughtful clinicians wanting a supervision space where complexity, identity, emotional process, and reflective depth can be explored openly and safely.

Since 2020, I have supported practitioners at different stages of professional development, from counselling psychology trainees working toward qualification to experienced therapists seeking deeper reflective practice, support with complex work, and continued professional growth.

Clinical supervision fees start from £60 per hour.

My Approach to Supervision

My supervision style is relational, reflective, and formulation led, with particular attention to how therapeutic work is shaped not only by theory and technique, but also by emotional process, identity, culture, and the wider systems practitioners work within.

Alongside clinical skill development, I place strong importance on creating a space where practitioners can think openly, explore uncertainty safely, and deepen their understanding of both the client and their own responses, patterns, and therapeutic presence within the work.

Many practitioners seek supervision not only for guidance around clinical work, but also for support navigating complexity, emotional impact, systemic pressures, identity, and the quieter forms of self doubt that can emerge within therapeutic practice.

Culturally responsive

Drawing on both lived bicultural experience and professional intercultural practice, I support clinicians in thinking more deeply about how culture, identity, difference, and systems can shape the therapeutic relationship, clinical formulation, and the experience of both client and practitioner.

My supervision practice is also informed by a specialist interest in neurodivergence affirming work, including the ways masking, adaptation, burnout, and systemic misunderstanding can appear within both clients and clinicians themselves.

Integrative and formulation led

I draw on integrative supervision frameworks, including reflective, relational, and evidence based approaches, tailored to your therapeutic orientation, clinical setting, and stage of professional development.

The aim is not only safe and ethical client care, but supervision that strengthens your clinical thinking, formulation depth, reflective capacity, and professional confidence over time.

Supportive yet challenging

Supervision with me is a space where you can bring uncertainty, difficulty, and complexity without fear of judgement. At the same time, I will invite you to think more deeply, remain curious about process, and gently stretch your clinical perspective where needed.

Growth within supervision often emerges through reflection, honesty, and the capacity to stay engaged with complexity rather than moving too quickly away from it.

Flexible and accessible

Supervision is delivered entirely online, making it easier to fit around clinical placements, NHS work, private practice, training commitments, or continuing professional development.

I work with both trainee and qualified practitioners across the UK and internationally.

What We Can Explore in Supervision

Supervision can offer space for both clinical reflection and professional development, particularly when therapeutic work becomes emotionally, ethically, or systemically complex.

Areas we may explore include:

  • Clinical formulation and therapeutic process

  • Complex presentations, risk, and high intensity clinical work

  • Trauma informed and neurodivergence affirming practice

  • Diversity, culture, identity, and intersectionality within therapy

  • Relational dynamics, boundaries, and use of self within the therapeutic relationship

  • Reflective practice, burnout, vicarious trauma, and sustainable clinical work

  • Navigating NHS, multidisciplinary, private practice, or placement environments

  • Developing confidence, depth, and professional identity as a practitioner

All supervision sessions are held online via encrypted video platforms. Confidentiality is maintained in line with HCPC standards and the supervision agreement established at the beginning of our work together.
